Home News Agencies distance themselves from Census: outage ‘not linked’ to attack
Text size :
The Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s ImmiAccount website unexpectedly went down yesterday, but despite the coincidental timing there is nothing to suggest it was attacked like the Census website.
The department distanced itself from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and its cyber attack troubles in a statement to the media once the issue became known.
The ImmiAccount website posted a message on Wednesday saying it was suffering from an “Unplanned System Outage” and that technical teams were investigating.
In a statement to AAP, the department said there were IT issues affecting the call centre, website and emails.
