As a senior executive in the chief financial officer division you will contribute to the department’s strategic priority to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the department’s processes. These include processes in place to meet its financial management objectives, manage risks and make effective use of resources through the provision of robust financial management information and strategic financial management advice.
It is essential that you have a sound appreciation of contemporary leadership principles and practices, with an active desire to adopt these in the workplace establishing strong role models for others.
You will be a collaborative and inclusive leader who builds strong teams and works effectively with peers and stakeholders. You will deal well with ambiguity and value open communication.
The national manager, financial accounting is responsible for the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of financial accounting and reporting services that comply with the requirements of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
You will support financial governance and compliance processes that underpin the completion of the department’s annual financial statements including reporting to the Financial Services Sub-Committee and the Audit Committee, reporting details of third party payments and receipts to partner agency Chief Financial Officers.
You will need to have a proven record of

- Have extensive experience in the provision of high level, evidence-based advice
- Have the ability to engender respect and trust
- Demonstrate an appreciation of the challenges of working in a large, geographically dispersed and complex organisation
