The Hon Dennis Cowdroy AO QC was appointed on 1 July 2019 as the ACT’s inaugural Integrity Commissioner. The Integrity Commission will investigate and prevent corrupt conduct and foster public confidence in the ACT Legislative Assembly and the ACT public sector. To complement its investigative, referral and preventative functions, the Commission will also deliver anti-corruption advisory, education and training services.
Applications are now invited for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ACT Integrity Commission. The CEO will manage the establishment of the Commission under the guidance of the Commissioner. Once established, the CEO will conduct the day-to-day operations of the Commission; develop policies, programs and procedures; and advise on a broad range of operational matters, including its financial performance.
To succeed in this challenging role, high-order leadership, analytical, communication, negotiation, representational and interpersonal skills are required. Serious contenders will have senior management experience appropriate to the role – desirably in an investigatory body – and a clear understanding of the aims and objectives of public sector anti-corruption bodies. Relevant tertiary qualifications are expected.
A full-time appointment of up to seven years will be made under the provisions of the Integrity Commission Act 2018, with remuneration and other entitlements determined by the ACT Remuneration Tribunal.
