NSW Health Care Complaints Commission seeks Director, Corporate Operations and Chief Financial Officer

By Omera Partners

Monday July 6, 2020

Omera Partners is proud to partner with the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) on the executive search for their Director, Corporate Operations and Chief Financial Officer, based in Sydney.

This is an outstanding career opportunity for a talented and resilient leader to make a significant difference to the community by leading change, engaging and influencing across the Commission and with external parties, and driving a customer-centric focus across a diverse portfolio.

Reporting to the Commissioner, the role is critical in ensuring that the HCCC can provide the benefits and outcomes it has been established to deliver. The role leads the delivery of key enabling functions of the Commission, to ensure that it has the foundations for efficient and effective operations and to support its growth and development.

The Commission has a unique role, playing a central part in maintaining the integrity of the NSW health system, with the overarching consideration of protecting the health and safety of individuals and the community.  The work of the Commission is a key element of the NSW Government’s priority to improve health service delivery in NSW. The Commission’s focus is broader than public hospitals – it deals with the full spectrum of health services, including private hospitals, imaging and radiation services, medical centres, general practitioners and all registered and non-registered providers and allied health services.

The Commission is funded primarily through an annual Government Grant, provided via the NSW Ministry of Health, but receives a small amount of income as a result of costs recovered from successful prosecutions, against which must be balanced potential adverse cost orders for unsuccessful prosecutions.

Omera Partners is an Australian-owned executive search firm, operating globally with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.  Established in 2002, Omera Partners specialises in executive search, leadership advisory, interim appointments, as well as Board consulting and appointments.  We have diverse sector coverage across government, commercial and the not for profit sectors.  People are the heart of our business; people connecting with purpose to drive outcomes.
