All spheres of government are invited to nominate their agency or council for the 11th Australian Government ICT Awards this year.
But be prepared to trim down how wonderful your project is to just 2600 words, which has to cover how the initiative demonstrates significantly improved services to the community, business or government capability, it’s use of technology, commitment to standards, and excellence in its particular category.
Categories this year include:
- Excellence in Applications Development
- Excellence in Geospatial Initiatives and Solutions
- Excellence in Government 2.0
- Project and Program Management
- Service Delivery
Also up for grabs this year are three ICT Professional of the Year Awards, for Young (under 35), Team and Individual.
Department of Finance’s Sean Hickling blogged that the awards help recognise and acknowledge leadership, dedication and capability of individuals in delivery of government services. He wrote:
“The Department of Finance would like to know what your agency is doing and who your quiet achievers are. Please think about nominating them for this year’s Awards and help us to identify and share the innovative ideas that we know government agencies across the country are delivering. It’s a great way of saying to your team ‘Thank you – job well done’.”
