Human Services Minister Stuart Robert will not be returning to the ministry in the pending reshuffle, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced on Friday afternoon.

Turnbull asked Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet secretary Dr Martin Parkinson to investigate the matter of Robert’s visit to Beijing, in accordance with the Code of Ministerial Standards.

Parkinson has given his advice to the governance sub-committee of the Cabinet, and concluded that Robert had “acted inconsistently” with the Statement of Ministerial Standards, but may not have intended to do so.
