Deputy Director-General, Policy Department of the Premier & Cabinet, Queensland


As the Deputy Director-General, Policy Division, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and policy analysis to the Premier and Cabinet Budget Review Committee on economic, social and environmental issues and coordination of the development and implementation of integrated policies, legislation and programs for Queensland.

Candidate profile

Candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • proven experience with strategic advice on state and national policy and legislative issues, anticipating emerging risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies and processes are in place
  • the ability to provide strategic leadership and direction to the Policy Division, ensuring that effective strategies, structures and systems are in place to deliver high quality policy services aligned with Government priorities and strategic objectives
  • ability to represent the department and the Director-General at significant national and whole-of-government forums and committees, ensuring effective negotiation of significant issues
  • ability to drive a culture that ensures the Policy Division operates in an environment based on open communication, consultation and trust.
