Wanted: Content and Production Manager

By The Mandarin

January 29, 2018

The Mandarin, Australia’s premier venue for public sector leaders, is growing. Readership is surging and our partner programs are proving immensely popular, so we are looking for a content manager and production editor to support our expanding commercial and editorial offerings.

We are seeking someone with strong content skills who can manage multiple commercial content campaigns and the overall production of daily web content. The content manager will be charged with ensuring the orderly and timely publication of content from our commercial partners and the daily production of the web site and our popular daily newsletter, the Juice.

You will be working with one of Australia’s most innovative digital media teams, with a proud record for intelligent professional journalism, on a broad range of important topics that matter to Australia’s governments.

We work from a modern digital platform, in multiple locations across Australia and offer flexibility for you to work wherever best suits you, either from our Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra offices, or from your home.

The successful applicant will have a strong track record of managing, editing and publishing content, either in traditional media, a corporate or government newsroom, or for clients in a public relations or creative agency.

The job requires excellent organisational skills and experience, working in a systematic fashion, with a variety of clients to create highly engaging content in a timely and creative manner. Ideally you will have a good network of freelance writers and creatives to draw upon.

The role will also oversee daily production of the website, newsletter and social distribution. This requires solid web production experience, ideally in our CMS, WordPress and to collaborate with the commercial team and clients around tracking links and ensuring coordination of display advertising with relevant content.

We work at a fast pace and we are looking for a candidate who can calmly and creatively bring together our daily publication.

The content manager will work closely with both the editorial and commercial teams to create an engaging and thoughtful content offering for our demanding audience of government leaders and managers.

A proven record of developing new digital products, working to amplify content on social media and other networks, and reporting and analysing campaign data is also what we’re looking for. We use Google Analytics, so will be seeking a candidate with a solid working knowledge of this platform.

Ideally you will have knowledge of government or experience working in complex professional environments.

We are a diverse group of media professionals and are seeking someone who can passionately contribute to our teams DNA though original ideas and great web delivery.

The hours for this role are negotiable and we are open to part time and full time arrangements. Please respond with your CV and expressions of interest explaining your suitability for this role via email to hr@privatemedia.com.au. Applications close 5 February.
