Caroline Spencer has been named as Western Australia’s new auditor general.
This will make her the first woman to hold the position.
Spencer holds significant experience as a specialist in public sector audit, risk and governance review at both state and federal level. She also conducted an official review of the Office of the Auditor General in 2015, so has significant understanding of the role.
She has most recently been the managing partner and co-founder of Canberra-based professional services firm Vista Advisory.
Spencer takes over from Colin Murphy, who has been in the job for a decade.
The 10-year term begins on May 28.
