Movers & Shakers: five new SES promotions at Defence

New Senior Executive Service promotions in the Australian government. Five first assistant secretary appointments were made in the Department of Defence this week.

Deputy Secretary

Liz Hefren-Webb has been named Deputy Secretary at the Department of Social Services, moving up from SES Band 2 at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

General Manager

Gavin Mathews moves to General Manager at the Department of Human Services, being promoted from SES Band 1.

Department of Defence

Traci-Ann Byrnes has been promoted to First Assistant Secretary Program Performance from an SES Band 1 position.

Tom Clarke takes up the role of First Assistant Secretary Audit & Fraud Control, moving up from SES Band 1.

Alison Doyle has been appointed Assistant Secretary Learning, moving up from EL2.

Patrick Hetherington becomes First Assistant Secretary People Policy & Culture, also moving up from SES Band 1.

Ciril Karo moves to First Assistant Secretary Contestability from SES Band 1.

Lisa Phelps takes on the job of First Assistant Secretary People Services, from SES Band 1.

SES Band 1

Jakub Bartkowiak moves to National Manager, Business Systems Delivery, Executive at the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, up from EL2.

George-Philip de Wet has been appointed SES Band 1 Corporate, moving up from EL2 within the DTA.
