Monday August 27, 2018

There’s opportunities for lawyers, leaders, tax and capital works experts, and more.

Inspector-General of Taxation

Ali Noroozi indicated last month he won’t be seeking a third term as the IGT, opening a plum vacancy in the Treasury portfolio. The small agency has grown into quite an empire under Noroozi, quadrupling in size and expanded to include ombudsman services. Applications for the $375,000+ statutory role close this Friday, August 31 and are being handled by Blayne O’Hara of EQV Associates, either by phone on 1300 565 010 or by email to [email protected] stating reference, ‘IGOT’.

Victorian Inspectorate

A new EO-2 ($210,670-$337,194) role of has been created in the Victorian government’s relatively new integrity oversight agency. The Executive Director, Legal and Integrity, will lead the legal, policy and integrity operations and provide General Counsel services to the Inspectorate. Applications close Monday September 3 and are handled by Penny Wilson at SHK Executive on 03 8620 8017 or by email to [email protected] quoting reference JO-1808-26554.

Sydney Opera House Trust

This NSW band 2 position is all about an iconic Australian institution.

The Executive Director, Building, Safety and Security leads the World Heritage-listed Sydney Opera House’s
extensive building renewal program, as well as ongoing maintenance and operational activities, to support its
artistic, heritage, commercial and sustainability objectives, consistent with the Opera House’s vision. The role also
drives and directs strategies to ensure the safety and security of staff, audiences and visitors to the Opera House,
Australia’s premier performing arts centre and tourist destination.

Applications close Wednesday this week. Contact Donna Mcleod on 02 8275 1314.

Department of Jobs and Small Business

Closing today, this Commonwealth Band 3, Deputy Secretary vacancy in the department formerly known as Employment, might be subject to an immediate machinery of government move — depending on what this week’s Administrative Arrangement Order has to say. Contact Tricia Searson on 02 6232 2200.

Department of the Environment and Energy

The department needs a Chief Finance Officer. It’s a Band 1 position, and probably won’t be subject to a machinery of government change resulting from the split ministry of the portfolio. Applications close Thursday this week. Contact Simon Cox on 02 6108 4878 or [email protected]

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The department is looking for a new cohort of Band 1 Assistant Secretary applicants. The latest cohort will include Indigenous-designated positions only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates as well as disability-designated positions. Applications close today. Contact Tricia Searson or Karina Duffey on 02 6232 2200.
