The RMA Registrar is responsible for the efficient management of the RMA and reports directly to the RMA Chairperson, who is a part-time statutory officer.
As the most senior APS employee in the agency you will provide leadership and direction to the agency’s APS staff. You will ensure the agency achieves its organisational objectives through the management of its legislative instruments and investigations workload, financial and HR management, policy development and the provision of governance and legal advice.
You will need strong strategic thinking capability, sound judgement, high-level organisational skills, political acumen and outstanding communication skills. You will also have a strong record of leadership and be capable of managing a small, professional team. Ideally you will have experience in medical-scientific regulation or policy.
Most importantly, however, you need to have the ability to critically analyse information, provide evidence-based advice, understand the implications of significant decisions affecting individual’s lives, liaise with and support senior, highly credentialed Members, and build capability in a small, focused team of dedicated staff.
