About the role
The Director, Strategy is a newly created position within the Delivery Unit, a small dynamic team with the Strategy and Delivery division. The opportunity exists for a proven leader in strategic planning to lead the department-wide strategic planning and business planning activities and supports the building of capabilities across the Department. Specifically you will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing effective annual strategic planning cycle across the Department;
Driving executive engagement and sponsorship of the strategic plans and priorities for the business unit and Department;
Leading a cross-disciplinary team that supports and influences key project teams across the Department;
Collaboratively develop appropriate tools and resources to support improved strategic problem solving and decision-making; and
Ensuring best-practice approaches are considered from inside and outside the sector.

Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience
Extensive experience in developing and/or implementing effective annual strategic planning cycles strategy formulation and strategic planning in large complex organisations (either public and private)
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education and Training policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
