The National Gallery is going through a period of transformation and change and to support them in the implementation of a significant infrastructure and capital works program, including driving the cultural and business transformation required, they are seeking to engage a new Chief Operating Officer at the SES Band 1 level.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the Senior Management Group and is responsible for advancing major transformation at the National Gallery. You will be expected to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the National Galley, ensuring key priorities as identified under the Corporate Plan are met. You will be accountable for providing the overall strategic direction, leadership and management of program delivery across facilities and security; business improvement; people support and development; capital works and information technology.
You will need to have significant leadership skills and experience in project management, strategy development and transformational change management. You will be results focussed, have a breadth of experience across a range of corporate functions and strategic and innovative in your approach. You will have excellent communication and relationship management skills.
To be employed by the National Gallery applicants must be Australian citizens. The requirement to hold Australian Citizenship may be waived under exceptional circumstances.
This position is a security assessed position. Appointment and continued employment will be subject to the successful applicant obtaining and maintaining a NV1 security clearance.
