Reporting directly to a Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and as a key member of Services Australia’s executive, you will provide high-level advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Minister, as well as contribute to the leadership and the strategic management of the agency. You will make a significant contribution to the delivery of government policy and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes that enhance the customer experience.

Services Australia is central to that commitment, supporting the economic, health and social wellbeing of Australians by delivering high-quality services and payments for the community on behalf of Government. Processing over $184 billion in payments per year, the agency’s extensive coverage includes all Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support payments, as well as whole of government services such as myGov.

The agency is seeking interest from leaders with generalist management experience, as well as specific skill sets including:

 

• Service delivery and design
• Project management experience
• ICT, ICT Infrastructure or Cyber Security
• Legal
• Human resources
• Corporate, Governance or Risk
• Policy or Program Management

 

Successful candidates will be outstanding leaders with a substantial record of achievement and a reputation for innovation and delivery of results. Relevant expertise and experience in one or more of the areas outlined above, and a background working in a large, geographically-dispersed organisation will be highly regarded. You will actively engage with staff at all levels to explore opportunities and solve complex problems. You will be resilient, self-motivated, outcome oriented and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment. We are looking for people with excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, strong customer focus and ability to engender respect and trust.

 

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field are highly desirable.

 

These roles may be filled on an ongoing or non-ongoing (fixed term) appointment.

 

An order of merit may be established to fill similar roles as they become available within a 12-month period.

 

Roles will be located in Canberra with other locations by exception.

 

Eligibility
