The High Court is the highest court in the Australian judicial system. It was established in 1901 by Section 71 of the Constitution. The functions of the High Court are to interpret and apply the law of Australia; to decide cases of special federal significance including challenges to the constitutional validity of laws and to hear appeals, by special leave, from Federal, State and Territory courts.
The High Court is seeking a highly motivated and experienced corporate services leader with a strong client focus to join its senior leadership team.
The Manager Corporate Services reports to the Chief Executive and Principal Registrar and plays a key role in supporting the Justices in the administration of the affairs of the Court. In delivering excellence in corporate services, you will lead and manage a high performing multi-disciplinary team in the provision of enabling services, providing strategic, operational and technical advice and reports, and delivering continuous improvement to the administration of the Court. You will also demonstrate understanding of the legislative, governance and accountability frameworks that the High Court operates within together with strong leadership, people, budget, contract and resource management skills.
To be successful in this key role, you will be a collaborative leader with strong strategic vision combined with extensive operational experience in the delivery of the breadth of corporate services. You will have a people focus and the capacity to build and lead teams across a variety of disciplines to drive quality outcomes. You will also have high level communication skills with the ability to build trust, and nurture relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external to the Court. You will have strong integrity, be committed to quality outcomes and able to quickly gain a strong understanding of the High Court and its functions.
Tertiary qualifications in relevant disciplines are highly desirable.
