IP Australia administers Australia’s intellectual property (IP) rights system, specifically patents, trade marks, designs, and plant breeder’s rights.

 

The Customer Services Division (CSD) plays a critical role in contributing to the strategic direction of IP Australia.  The CSD delivers quality examination and registration services for the four registrable intellectual property rights, (patents, Trade Marks, designs and plant breeder’s rights).  

 

The General Manager, Trade Marks and Design Group (TMDG) is responsible for the administration of the Australian Trade Marks and Designs Systems. Our work helps ensure that Australians benefit from the effective use of intellectual property. The TMDG has a been on a transformational journey and implemented a number of initiatives including cultural, technological and process driven change. Highly desired knowledge, skills and abilities for this role includes a deep understanding of the intellectual property rights ecosystem.

 

The General Manager, Customer Experience Group (CEG) is responsible for understanding and improving the customer journey, external communications, and the delivery of core operations. Essential knowledge, skills and abilities for the role includes demonstrated experience of excellence in a senior management role, managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment and liaising with a broad network of stakeholders to achieve outcomes. 

 

To be a strong contender for these important roles you will need to be an authentic, resilient and empathic leader who can inspire a sense of purpose and direction while also driving a culture of innovation, risk management and quality customer service. You will be a skilful communicator, negotiator and have capacity to contribute to the organisation more broadly. You will be confident, adaptable, possess excellent stakeholder and people management skills and demonstrate experience in developing multiple options to resolve complex issues.
