Education Directors ensure the consistently high quality implementation of the department’s School Improvement Model, particularly the improvement planning cycle as well as other relevant resources, to ensure literacy and numeracy improvement in all schools and preschools in keeping with the department’s 10 year aspiration for world class educational achievement. Working with local education teams, Education Directors will drive improvement in schools and preschools and build a professional culture of improvement through the ongoing line-management, performance development and differentiated support of site leaders. They will ensure that schools and preschools effectively implement departmental policies and practices, particularly those aligned to its Strategic Plan.
The successful applicants are required to gain a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS-child related employment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires. The incumbents will be required to undertake Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RAN) full day/online training course every three years. For all other special conditions refer to the Role Description.
