Women and Leadership Series Launch

CEDA is pleased to welcome SA Police Commissioner, Grant Stevens. Following the Equal Opportunity Commission’s review into the SA Police force last year, Commissioner Stevens will talk about changing the culture at SAPOL, the strategies that have been put into place and what the long term plans are.

Event overview

Commissioner Stevens will discuss the leadership and resilience that is required to change a workplace culture and the strategies required to achieve gender equity.

Following the Equal Opportunity Commission’s review last year into SAPOL which highlighted cases of sexual harassment and discrimination. Commissioner Stevens has taken a strong lead in addressing these issues. He will discuss some recommendations of the review, how he is tackling the “boys club” culture, what strategies have already been put into place and what the plans are going forward.

While there has been increased awareness and focus around reducing harassment and discrimination in the workplace over recent years, there is strong evidence that sexual harassment and discrimination remains a significant issue for many organisations, with high costs to individuals, organisations and the economy.
