Duties

The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth laws. We review decisions made by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies and, in limited circumstances, decisions made by state government and non-government bodies. The AAT falls within the portfolio of the Attorney-General. For more information about what we do please visit our website, www.aat.gov.au.

From time to time the AAT may require people to fill short-term or project based work on a full-time, part-time or intermittent / irregular (casual) basis.
We anticipate that most opportunities will be at the APS3 and APS4 levels working in customer service / administration. This work involves client contact, corresponding with clients, processing review applications and assisting with hearing arrangements.

Applications submitted to the AAT’s Temporary Employment Register remain active until the closing date at the top right hand side of this vacancy notice. After this, if you wish to remain on our register you will need to reapply.
