Justice Margaret Stone, the new inspector general of intelligence and security, raises the difficulty of being a small independent agency under new Commonwealth accountability requirements.

The Honourable Margaret Stone will be appointed Australia's next Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security, replacing Dr Vivienne Thom whose term ends this week.
